When a fire suppression or alarm system is out of service, many Minnesota jurisdictions require a continuous or hourly fire watch to remain compliant and keep occupants safe. Fire watch is typically needed during sprinkler or alarm system repairs, hot work permits, construction affecting fire protection, or after a system failure. We can staff on short notice since these situations often come up unexpectedly.
Under the Minnesota State Fire Code, when a required fire protection system is out of service the fire code official must be notified, and where that official requires it the building is either evacuated or an approved fire watch is provided until the system is back in service. The decision belongs to your local fire marshal, not to us and not to your alarm contractor, so call them first. Rounds are made at the interval they set and every one is logged with its time.
