Most site theft happens after crews leave for the day. We staff overnight and weekend coverage, checking fencing, storage containers, staged materials, and heavy equipment for tampering or removal. Guards can also control access during active work hours if the site needs a manned gate.
We coordinate with the general contractor or site superintendent to understand phase-specific risks: a site with steel and copper on hand carries different exposure than one in the finishing stages. Coverage adjusts as the project moves through phases.
Welding, cutting and torch work require a fire watch during the work and after it stops. OSHA's welding and cutting standard sets at least a half hour afterward, NFPA 51B sets 60 minutes, and the watch has to cover adjacent areas including the floor below. If hot work is in the schedule, budget the post-work watch into the job rather than discovering it at 4 p.m.
